Once Upon a Time...

If I think really hard, I can remember the last two books that really set my childhood imagination alive. When I was about six years old, I remember the first time I read Green Eggs and Ham. It really wasn't that spectacular besides the fact that it rhymed, and it was my first rhyming book I read to myself. I read it to myself once, then my mom read it to me. Dr. Seuss was just a name at the time, after a while a began to discover the other treasures that are his books. My second favorite was One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish, or something like that. None of them could compare to my first Dr. Seuss book, though. I only remember a little, but that Sam I Am is a real character, and I mean like a clown, but a metaphorical clown, not like the ones with the red noses, and not like the literature character character. But yes, Green Eggs and Ham was the jewel of my early literature experience because it introduced me to the wonders of rhyming.
