The ever-chagning truth on...

Crucifix. Or Cross as some like to call it. It is an extremely ancient symbol, and its meanings are almost as different as the people who revere it. The Crucifix's horizontal line was symbolic of the mundane, feminine, negative, worldly , and passive. The vertical line meant celestial, spiritual, masculine, active, and positive. The Crucifix is incredibly similar to to the Ankh, a cross with a loop on the top to symbolize the male and female as one. All of these meanings are dwarfed, however, by the incredible amount of symbolism and faith that came with the Crucifixion of Jesus.
All denominations of Christianity revere the Cross. There are several versions of it, but the effect of them is the same. In horror movies, vampires flinch and cringe at the sight and presence of a cross because of its sacred power. Today crosses of every kind can be found on the necks of diverse peoples and embroidered on clothing, accessories, and other items.
