Hear no evil, see no evil, do no evil, be no evil-wait! What is evil?
Evil describes any object, action, person, or idea that in anyway has a completely negative connotation. Or at least that definition is close. Evil is one of those words like "love" or "cold" with intangible definitions. Cold is the absence of heat, supposedly, but that would mean that heat is the absence of cold...or the opposite...one of them. Anyway I define evil as the opposite of good, not the absence of it. So that means one can be good, evil, or neither, or maybe even both. And then it gets even MORE complicated because you got stuff like the lesser of two evils. But evil is evil! One can't be half evil...unless, I guess, the other half is good. But being half evil sounds like being half pregnant or half dead, you just are or you aren't. So I guess evil is just as complex as all the other untouchable, unseeable, unfeelable ideas people have.
"People aren't evil. Their actions are." Simple, right? Wrong! I think people aren't born evil, but become that way because the world has failed them. But then again, it's not the worlds responsibility to look after anyone. It is the people's fault for relying on the world. My opinion is that God keeps people from becoming evil. Even the idea itself, of a nurturing, loving, protective father, seems to bring out people's potential for good.
To sum it all up, I think evil is unnatural. To support this, look at the word itself, EVIL. EVIL backwards is LIVE. So if you LIVE backwards, you live EVIL, if that makes sense. So if you live right (good), you won't be evil! Hooray!
